The Palazzo Del Forno, built in the 18th century to a design by Giovan Battista Nauclerio, is one of the best examples of 18th century Neapolitan Baroque architecture. In front of the entrance were the stables and the access to the garden behind the courtyard. Of great visual impact is the portal and the four-storey loggia staircase to the left of the entrance.
As the British historian and art collector Harold Acton wisely wrote: “The Baroque was able to express itself in Naples with the same joy as a flight of nightingales released from a golden cage”.
And he couldn’t have said a truer thing, because the Baroque, with its strong and lively tones and its curved lines with sinuous movements, fully embodies the spirit of the Neapolitans, represents their exuberance, emphasizes their creativity and love for life. In short, the perfect venue for La Gatta Cenerentola Rooms.
